Workspaces

Hornil StylePix is consisted of 13 parts: Menu Bar, Edit Tools, Tool Options, Main Tools, View Tools, Transform Tools, Thumbnail, Histogram, Action List, Hierarchy, Canvas and Status bar. Each part is labeled below:

This is the onscreen environment for StylePix Pro in Windows.
  1. Menu bar: The Menu bar allows you to access all commands in StylePix.
  2. Canvas Tab: The Canvas tab shows opend images. You can preview and choose the desire canvas using this tab.
  3. Edit Tools: The Edit tools are primary Hornil StylePix functions. This where the active tool is highlighted, and where you may choose from other tools.
  4. Tool Options: The Tool Options shows options available for the currently active tool.

  7. Transform Tools: The Transform tools contains commands related the object such as rotation, z-index ordering, to arranging the current active objects.
  8. Thumbnail: The Thumbnail shows how much of the image is displayed, and what part of it.
  9. Histogram: The Histogram is a graphical display of tabulated color frequencies that appear in an image.
  10. Action List: The Action List tracks what actions you have taken. It provides a list of undo steps.
  11. Hierarchy: The Hierachy allows you to manage layers and their attributes.
  12. Canvas: You can edit images or photos in here.
  13. Status bar: The Status bar is an information area of StylePix. Most of the message is displayed in status bar.

Tool Options

The tool options shows the options of current active tool. When you select a tool, additional options appear in the tool options. Several tools have a preview panel shows a preview of the active tool with current options.

Folding/Unfolding windows

  • Position the mouse pointer over the title bar of the desire window.
  • Double-cilck the title bar or click the ▶ icon or the ▼ icon located left above.
Tips:
  • To fold (or unfold) the side bar.
  • Position the mouse pointer over the center of the vertical bar or horizontal bar.
  • Click the center of the vertical bar or horizontal bar.

Showing/Hiding windows

  • To hide the window, press the x button on title bar of each window
  • To show the window, choose the wanted window from View > Window.
  • also you can select the window from the pop-up menu that is activated on empty area of the tool bar.

Switching windows

  • To switch between canvases, press Ctrl + Tab keys.
  • If you want to go back, press Ctrl + Shift + Tab keys.
  • If you press the above-mensioned keys, the switch window is poped.
  • Then, if you want to select next canvas, press the Tab key.
Tips
  • The window > Switch... command shows list of currently opened images.
  • If you select one of them, switch to current active window.

Arranging canvases

Click the different types on the window menu. The cascade, tile vertically, and tile horizontal types are available.

Docking/Undocking windows

Each part in workspace without menu bar is dockable.

Undocking the window

  • Position the mouse pointer over the title bar of the desire window.
  • Push and hold the mouse button.
  • Drag the window to the desired location.
  • Release the mouse button at the desired position.

Docking the window

Undocked window can be anchored in dockable area that is marked in dark blue.

  • Position the mouse pointer over the title bar of the desire window.
  • Push and hold the mouse button.
  • Drag the window to the desired location.
  • If dockable area is available, it is marked in the translucent blue.
  • Release the mouse button at the marked area.
Tips
  • To prevent docking while it's being moved, hold down Ctrl key.

Reseting workspace layout

  • Click the Window > Reset Layout.
