Saving an Image
- Click the ( Ctrl + S ) or click the Save on the Main tools.
- Choose a location for the file.
- Select the proper format from the Save as type combo box.
- Type a file name.
- Click the Ok button.
- Do either of the following:
When you save a file in JPEG format, a dialog is displayed that asking you to set the compression level, which ranges from 0 to 100. The default quality of 90 usually produces excellent results, but in many cases it is possible to set the quality substantially lower without noticeably degrading the image.
- Type the Quality setting.
- Click the Ok button.
- Choose the least number of colors.
- Click the Ok button.
Tips
- GIF is an 8-bit format, meaning it can save only up to 256 colors. GIF preserves flat colors and sharp edges better than JPEG.
- JPEG retains image's full 24-bit color depth. JPEG preserves continuous-tone images than GIF.
- PNG is created to improve upon and replace GIF. PNG supports 24-bit RGB or 32-bit RGBA colors.
- If you want to preserve the transparency, choose GIF or PNG.
